It’s time for this very special skirt to come to life, just for you – and make your colour fashion dreams come true!  The tiered maxi skirt is an incredible statement piece, customised and hand cut to be yours.

(photos depict the maxi dress, in the same style – more photos to come)

Whenever you step out in your customised Kablooie maxi skirt , you’ll get a never ending stream of compliments and people running up to ask you WHERE DID YOU GET THAT SKIRT?!

Each tiered maxi skirt is handcut by Keneena, using designer fabrics printed exclusively for Kablooie.  (On occasion, I will also use requested fabric from special suppliers such as Material Difference (Kasey Rainbow designs amongst others), and will also create some pieces with vintage or upcycled fabrics where this is available.)

(Looking for a custom tiered maxi dress instead?)

More about  this skirt : The tiered maxi skirt has a full elastic waist and generous hidden side pockets, like my standard skirt, but flows into 4 gathered tiers in different fabrics. This is a very flowing style that gives the dress a lot of body (some of the bottom layers have up to 4 metres of fabric length in them, that’s a LOT of hand gathering! ), and is designed to sit down at the ankle or top of the foot, depending on your height. You can request a specific length for the skirt to suit your own height, and I will adjust the length of the tiers to make this work. skirts are made from 100% cotton.

The skirt  can come in several themes – a base colour that holds the tiers together, from a mix of fabrics that both clash and blend:

Black/Dark background fabrics (eg faces, retro bloom, shape up). These fabrics are bright colours popping on a dark background.

Blue fabrics (either lighter or darker blues like hello tiger, brand new day)

Pink fabrics (with a mix of some white if you’d like lighter, like pink bananas for mangoes, pink prawny prawns, or jungle fever)

Full of COLOUR – you can choose a whole heap of colours mixed up together to be very vibrant, with all different bases!

White background – fabrics like Art Attack that are colourful on a white background.

You can also choose to have one fabric for all the tiers as a tiered maxi with no other designs in there, or 2 specific designs that alternate.

If you’d like to make the skirt a full outfit, I HIGHLY recommend adding either a boxy cropped top or a regular cotton top to your skirt, the combination looks completely fabulous and has had great feedback at recent fashion shows.

Here’s how we work together to create your dream skirt:

Step 1 – choose your size – if you already own a Kablooie skirt this will be the same size as you already wear.  If you are unfamiliar with sizing, it is relaxed fit and generous, and if you are between sizes (eg 14-16) I always recommend choosing the lower size.

Step 2 – Please pick the colour theme of your tiered maxi using the dropdown options.  Current options are Black/Dark base, White base, Blue base, or Pink base, as well as all one fabric or alternating fabrics.  This describes the general background colour of the fabrics chosen.

I have already designed many gorgeous skirts, each with a unique combination.  You can safely leave it in my hands to select a combination of fabrics (such as the pictured examples) that fit that theme and handcut your skirt for you, including 4 gathered tiers.

If you would like specific fabrics, please list the fabrics in the notes section on this page, and let me know there if there are fabrics you do NOT want in your piece, so I know to avoid them – otherwise anything goes!

Step 3 – Choose your length – the 4 tiered maxi is the long flowing version, or you can choose a 3 or 2 tiered Midi version if you want a shorter skirt.  The 3 tier skirt is designed to hit mid calf with 3 tiers, and the 2 tier is ALSO designed to hit mid calf but with only 2 tiers. If you would like the style adjusted for your height – please choose the style you want and add it to the notes.  (ie if you are very tall and want 5-10 cm added, we will add an equal amount to each tier.  If you are more petite and would like 15cm taken off, I will adjust each tier to take this length off)

Step 4 – choose whether to add a matching top, regular length or boxy crop, to complete the look.

Step 5: You decide whether to add a fabric belt to perfect your look, or other hair accessories from the options available, and tick those required.

A few important points

These are special pieces, cut from designer 100% cotton, and are specific to you, so please check sizing carefully before commencing, as each piece can not be returned or exchanged if you change your mind.  Please remember you can very easily try a size on before you purchase, using my ‘Try Before You Buy‘ option – I send a sample skirt out to you at home to try  – trying 2 sizes is best in case one is too small or big. You can then order knowing your preferred size.

Base pricing for the full 4 tier maxi skirt starts at $250 including gst – any customisations will add to this base price.  If you have specific requests which with affect the price of the dress, I will contact you regarding a quote for the additional work and payment options.

I’m so excited to make you this special piece, and I hope you treasure it for many years to come.
